Salvage Value

Salvage value is the of improvements located on a site when their continued use is no longer the highest and best use of the property.  Thus, a residential home on a property that is clearly more valuable for commercial redevelopment may have a salvage value if it can be moved.  If relocation costs exceed the value of the improvements in place, however, then the salvage value is assumed to be zero.
